What type of financial transactions can I do with PayAttitude®?
You can make contactless payments for goods purchased at Merchant locations via an NFC POS e.g. retail supermarkets, pharmacy shops, bookshops, hotels, restaurants, bars, eateries, toll gates/plaza, parking lots etc.
What are the benefits of the e-purse account?
The benefits to the holder are;
- The holder can spend whatever amount he/she has on his e-purse at any PayAttitude merchant shop.
- The holder has no fear of network failure as transactions are approved offline
- All transactions within limit will be successful.
Where can I purchase PayAttitude® Debit Plus?
PayAttitude® packs can be purchased ONLY at designated FCMB branches across the country.
What are the contents of my PayAttitude® Debit Plus pack?
Your PayAttitude® pack contains a square-shaped Tag with adhesive and a User manual.
Do I need to subscribe to data services for internet connection before using PayAttitude®?
No you don’t. PayAttitude® does not require data services neither does it require internet connection to work.
What is PIN and how do I obtain it?
PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. It is a 4-digit number known only to you and is used to authenticate transactions done with your PayAttitude tag. Your PIN of choice is selected by you during the subscription process.
How do I subscribe for PayAttitude® Debit Plus Tag?
Visit any of the designated FCMB branches and request to be subscribed to PayAttitude Debit Plus tag.
Is my PayAttitude® protected from unauthorized usage?
Yes. A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is required before any transaction can be successfully carried out.
Is my bank account/e-Purse debited when I make contactless payments at Merchant shops with my PayAttitude Debit Plus tag?
For online real time transactions, your bank account will ONLY be debited if your e-Purse account is not funded enough to accommodate the transaction value of which you are making payment for a while for Offline transactions your e-purse will be debited. So, You must ensure availability of adequate funds in your bank account at all times for online real time transactions and adequate funds in your e-purse at all times for offline transactions.
Do I require special mobile phone or mobile network before using PayAttitude®?
No. PayAttitude® does not work with your phone or any Telco, the phone is only a medium of carrying the tag. You can also use your wallet or any other handy device to carry your tag around.
Is PayAttitude® safe and secure?
Yes. This is because;
- PayAttitude® runs on a platform that is compliant with EMV, PCIDSS Standards – These are the highest form of international security standards available.
- The data exchanges are encrypted end to end.
- Transactions are protected with a PIN.
- In case of stolen device, your PIN protects you against unauthorized use.

What should I do when my e-purse or bank account is wrongly debited?
Kindly visit any of the designated FCMB branch or send an email to or call Unified Payment Services Limited (UPSL) customer care on 01-2703023, 01-2703021, and 01 2703011 to make your complaint.
What should I do if my phone or handy device is misplaced, stolen or lost?
You can take the following actions:
- Call UPSL Customer Care Centre number on: 01-2703023 and request for your PayAttitude® tag to be disabled.
- Send an email to and request for your PayAttitude® tag to be disabled
- Visit any of the designated FCMB branches and request for your PayAttitude® tag to be disabled.
What is the e-Purse loading limit on PayAttitude Debit Plus Tag®?
For e-Purse account the maximum loading limit is N50, 000 per day and N50, 000 maximum transaction limits per transaction.
What will be the validation / authentication before transactions can be completed?
You will need to put in your PIN for validation.
Is the PIN Validation Online- real time?
Yes it is.
Can the tags be removed from one mobile phone or handy device to another?
Yes, it can and can be used without a mobile phone as well.
How long does it take for settlement?
Settlement takes the usual T+1 day; transaction day plus 1day
Will a customer be able to do PIN Change?
Yes, you can do this at any of the designated FCMB branches
Can the tags be damaged by water, heat sunlight etc.?
Yes it can. Little drops of water may not damage it but if dropped into a bucket of water for instance, the tag will be damaged. Even heat and exposure to sunlight can damage a tag.
Can an already registered tag be re-registered?
No it can’t.
Can you pay bills on an NFC enabled POS terminals?
How do you validate a customer calling for a tag to be blocked?
The customer would be asked security questions before the card can be blocked.
Do customers pay Transaction charges after the monthly subscription?
No there are no charges other than the monthly subscription fee.
Can the fund on the customer’s e-purse be transferred back to his bank account?
Yes, on the request of the customer and availability of the tag at the bank branch.
Can the serial number on tag be repeated
