What is FCMB Non-Resident Nigerian Banking?

It is a service designed for Nigerians living outside Nigeria to access banking services in Nigeria from abroad. It provides investment opportunities in Nigeria among other benefits.

Who is eligible for this service?

Any Nigerian that resides outside Nigeria.

Can I open a business account since I run a small business abroad?

No. The service is available only for individuals.

What type of accounts can I open?

An FCMB Savings account.

What should I do as I have completed the application form but yet to receive my account Number?

What do I require to open an account?

A scanned copy of your signature and passport photograph. Kid’s passport and birth certificate will be required if opening account for a minor.

Do I have to get a Notary Public to certify my documents?

Yes, you can also certify documents at Nigerian Embassies or your local bank.

How do I manage my account while I am abroad?

You can securely view/operate your account from the FCMBMobile plusApp  and the internet (FCMB Online Personal version). You can also get a debit card to carry out transactions using the account from any country.

How do I get a debit card?

You will be contacted once your account is opened. Alternatively, you can always send your request to customerservice@fcmb.com

 

How can I transfer money into my account?

You can fund your account using any of the following methods:

  • Direct funds transfer from your account abroad into the FCMB account. (Details of the bank’s correspondent bank will be sent to you)
  • Direct credit (cash or cheque) into your account at any branch of the bank in Nigeria.
  • You can visit any Western Union/MoneyGram agent or other accredited Money Transfer operator in your country to transfer funds into your account.

Do I need a token to conclude any transfer on internet banking?

  • No. However, you can request for a token if desired. We also have a mobile token app that can be downloaded on your phone.

Will my account be opened if I do not have/provide my BVN when filling out an application?

Yes, it will be opened and you will receive your account number instantly, but the account will not be fully operational until you provide your BVN. You can always contact us to provide your BVN if you are already registered or register for the BVN if you have not done this before.

I already have an FCMB account. Can I still open another account?

You can open only one account for yourself on the online account opening platform.
