On Saturday 30th September 2019, the 2nd edition of the FCMB AgriTech Incubation program held at the Lekki hall of the Raddison Anchorage Hotels Victoria Island Lagos. The event, which was a culmination of two weeks of intense training and preparation by selected start-ups, focused on the theme, ''The Role of Agriculture in the Economy, The Challenges and How to Mitigate them”.
Ten (10) start-ups, which emerged from a total of three hundred and twenty (320) applications, went head to head pitching to the panelists for the grand prize money. The start-ups are AgriEasy, FarmChain, CsContron, FarmAid, MrFarm, AgroBarn, Osfield Hire, Agrico, FarmBank, and Ozidi.
While Team AgroBarn emerged winner, Team Agrico followed as 1st RunnerUp, and both teams went home with N2million and N1million respectively in grants courtesy of FCMB.
On the panel were: The Divisional Head, Agric Business and Finance, FCMB, Kudzai Gumunyu; Founder, FarmCrowdy, Onyeka Akumah; Managing Partner, Crop It NG, Femi Afolabi; Presenter, Channels TV, Chukwuemeka Fred-Agbata Jnr.
Also present at the event were the bank's Managing Director, Adam Nuru; Divisional Head, Transaction Banking Rolayo Akhigbe; Divisional Head, Corporate Services, Felicia Obozuwa; National Program Manager- Wennovation Hub, Osasenaga Enogieru; amongst others.
