December 5, 2016: After eight months of exciting and rewarding experience for customers, the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited promotion tagged, ‘’FCMB Millionaire Promo Season 3’’, came to a joyful end on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 with the grand finale draws held across Nigeria. The colourful ceremony was witnessed by officials of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Consumer Protection Council, customers of the Bank and other dignitaries.
The electronic selection exercise saw the emergence of four lucky customers of the Bank who won N2million each at the event held in Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan (Oyo state) and Calabar (Cross River state). In addition to the cash gifts, another set of 642 account holders smiled home with LED televisions, generating sets, decoders, tablets, smart phones and other consolation prizes at the zonal draws. The reward of N2million each went to Mr. Ibrahim Fatai (Lagos); Abuja & North, Mr. Okolo Obiekwe; (South-East/South-South), Chief Amobi Egbe and Mrs. Omolafe Monica (South-west).
Speaking on the development, a winner of N2million cash, Mrs. Omolafe, expressed gratitude to FCMB for being a true partner in progress. In an excitement laden voice, she added that, "I am grateful to God and FCMB for this big surprise. The Bank should continue with the great things it has been doing’’. Another winner of N2 million, Chief Amobi, described FCMB as a, "blessing’’. According to him, "I consider this winning as a miracle and Christmas gift. FCMB has been exception and I cannot but appreciate the Bank for this wonderful opportunity to be one of the winners of the promo’’.
Commenting on the promo and draws, Zonal Co-ordinator of the Consumer Protection Council for South-west 2, Alhaji Garba Ahmad, hailed the Bank for conducting the exercise with integrity. According to him, "FCMB followed due process from the beginning of the promo till the emergence of the various winners. We give kudos to the Bank for coming up with this reward scheme and helping to empower Nigerians’’.
Speaking on the promo, FCMB’s Divisional Head, Retail Banking, Mr. Olu Akanmu, said that with the grand finale of the draws held nationwide, the Bank has fulfilled the promise it made to customers to reward those who participated and qualified in the promo and the four draws organised during the exercise. "We are encouraged by the huge excitement and participation the Millionaire Promo Season 3 received. Beyond the various prizes won by winners, the fact that the promo has provided us with an opportunity to encourage an enduring savings culture, financial inclusion and the empowerment of our customers is very exciting. We have more positive offerings in various developmental stages for our customers. We therefore urge the members of the general public who do not have a banking relationship with us yet to come on board so as to benefit from our various rewarding and empowering initiatives’’, he added.
Mr. Akanmu encouraged the lucky customers, particularly the star prize winners, to make wise use of their prizes, adding that, ‘’they can invest meaningfully and we are ready to offer them free advice if they so wish’’. He further assured that FCMB will continue to up-scale its level of service delivery and the empowerment of its customers in line with its leading position as an inclusive lender and its chosen mantra as a simple, reliable and helpful financial institution.
In all, a total of 2,576 customers won various cash prizes (including four that received N2million each and twelve that got N1million each), while the others smiled home with other exciting prizes during the FCMB Millionaire Promo Season 3, which commenced in April this year. The four draws for the promo were conducted in June, August, October and the grand finale in December. The Promo was targeted at all segments of the society and for existing as well as potential savings account customers of the Bank.
